August brought a noticeable shift in the U.S. housing market: active listings increased by 1.2% from July and are up 3% year-over-year—even though new listings themselves dropped by 5%. At the same time, pending sales dipped 0.2% annually, and median list prices declined 1.3%. With mortgage rates on the rise, activity has slowed, prompting both buyers and sellers to adjust their strategies. In my experience serving the High Desert community, these numbers highlight the importance of clear communication and strategic guidance. Navigating a changing market requires a steady hand and a commitment to each client’s unique goals—whether you’re searching for your first home, considering an investment, or planning your next move. My focus remains on making your real estate journey smooth and rewarding, no matter how the market shifts.
