Over the past several years, California has made a concerted effort to increase housing supply—boosting annual home construction by 59% since 2018 and building over 682,000 new homes since 2019, with a growing share of multifamily units. Yet, despite these strides, only 19% of households can afford the median home. This really hits home for so many clients I work with in the High Desert, whether they're first-time buyers or families hoping to move up. The numbers make it clear: while we’re seeing more options on the market, true affordability and access remain real challenges for everyday Californians. As someone deeply invested in helping people build the life they envision, I remain committed to guiding clients through these complexities with honesty, strategy, and a clear understanding of our unique local market.
